Building Financial Confidence: A Successful Workshop with Ella's Foundation

Living Advantage, Inc. recently hosted a successful “Cash Flow Confidence: Know Your Numbers” workshop in partnership with Ella's Foundation, bringing valuable financial education directly to youth in a transitional housing setting.

The workshop welcomed six participants, all residents of the transitional home, who showed up ready to learn, engage, and take control of their financial futures.

Throughout the session, youth actively participated, asking thoughtful questions and contributing to meaningful discussions around budgeting, impulsive spending, and understanding interest rates.

To support and encourage their engagement, each participant received a $25 gift card, reinforcing the importance of showing up and investing in their personal growth.

We were especially grateful for the support of house manager Jesse, whose involvement helped create a positive and encouraging environment for the youth. His engagement reflects the kind of community partnership that makes these workshops impactful and sustainable.

One of the most exciting takeaways from the session was hearing directly from participants about what they want next. Youth shared a strong interest in future workshops focused on art and financial literacy, giving us valuable insight into how we can continue to tailor programming to meet their goals and interests.

This workshop is a reminder that when youth are given the right tools, safe spaces, and consistent support, they are not only willing but eager, to learn and grow.

We look forward to continuing our work with Ella's Foundation, Jesse, and these incredible young people as we build pathways toward independence and long-term success.
