Supporting Foster Youth in Transition (SFYTA)
Living Advantage, in partnership with the USC Joint Educational Project (JEP), faculty in the USC Department of Psychology, and Foshay Learning Center, are partnering to provide targeted support to foster youth at Foshay that will prepare them for independent living, higher education and employment.
VALE LIFE SKILLS WORKSHOPS
Living Advantage partners with key community organizations, such as Foshay Learning Center, USC & Verizon-Thinkfinity.com to provide foster youth with important life skills programs needed to successfully transition from managed care to self-sufficient adults. Workshops and partners include:

VALE EMPLOYMENT TRAINING CENTER
Local youth employment agency partners such as AADAP will send youth to Living Advantage to gain paid vocational training. Living Advantage career training skills include: blue print for workplace success; career assessment; workplace etiquette; goal setting; job reviews; communication skills; and computer training; well-aligned with California’s proposed business tax incentives to encourage employment of foster youth.
VALE COMMUNITY RESOURCES & SERVICES
Living Advantage Inc. draws upon its extensive community network to identify and facilitate the delivery of services to youth, depending on their specific needs (e.g., employment, transitional housing, mental health services, etc.). Participating youth are guided to feel more confident in their ability to: (1) access and utilize general community services, as well as services specific to foster youth, (2) advocate for themselves outside the foster system, (3) graduate from high school, (4) seek higher education, (5) obtain employment, and (6) make better health choices.
