for the cost of one cup of coffee a week you could help a Foster Youth secure a future?
IT’S TRUE!
All you have to do is give up ONE cup of coffee a week. That’s it!!
That’s amazing isn’t it?
And YOU CAN DO IT!
Your generous commitment of $10 per month will allow you to join the 30/33 club. Three Thousand and Thirty Three people and organizations who are being educated and informed about foster care issues and coming together to take a personal responsibility for a positive change in the foster care system for our at risk youth. The 30/33 Club will provide a valuable innovative benefit to insure the future of our foster youth.

DID YOU KNOW????
·There are nearly40,000 foster youth living under the auspices of the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) —
·This year alone1,400 young adults will have to leave the support of the foster care system forever with little or no financial support and/or life skills
·Now they are vulnerable and exposed to committing theft, prostitution and drug abuse for survival.
·Together we will helpreduce the plight of homelessness, incarceration, Gangs, alcoholism and drug addiction against our at risk youth.
Main issues are:
Not having social security cards, birth certificates, immunization/medical documentation, which renders them completely unidentifiable. There are times when the teenagers are unaware of their own birth dates. This often happens when the child is continuously moved from home to home and information was never transferred or is lost.
We have seized the benefits of technology to gather the vital life documents for youth, called the Virtual Assisted Living and Education Program, The VALE Program.Youth will have access to a secure web site www.myLAspace.orgthat has bridged the gap between our youth and the community by…….
1.Providing access to online data storage to provide a secure portal to important personal documents for youth
2.Introduce foster youth to the computer technology and e-educational resources available via the internet, to achieve success in today’s society; and
3. Community Support - To expose
foster youth to positive
role models models for higher self
esteem and engage youth at events
and activities that are hosted by
Living Advantage.
